Hot:

First T.I. then Lil Boosie and now Lil Wayn, 2009 has been the year to send a rapper to prison. By now I’m sure you’ve heard that Lil Wayne plead guilty to those 2007 gun charges that have been lingering all this time:

Lil Wayne faces one year in jail after pleading guilty to gun possession yesterday. The New Orleans rapper – one of the world’s biggest hip-hop acts – reversed his plea after “problematic” DNA evidence was found to be admissible in court.

The hearing yesterday (22 October) didn’t take long. Beginning at 10am and lasting just 20 minutes, the session saw Lil Wayne formally accept the district attorney’s plea deal, confirm to the judge he understood the terms, and concede that the type of gun he had illegally possessed was “a .40-calibre semi-automatic”

Sigh.

Dumb ass.

Granted all of the above essentially got off with a slap on the wrist considering the time they could have gotten, but I guess gone are the days you get out of doing time because you happen to have a top ten album on the charts.

A year over having an arsenal as a convicted felon. Though I can understand considering the situation that initiated the gun collecting.

With that said I guess all that rapping about violence has finally caught up with the hip-hop industry.

I’m a firm believer that you can’t rap about violence and degradation and not have that spill over into your everyday life. Especially when you’re already hood to begin with.

And I guess none of these guys ever think about their family before they proceed to do dumb shit..huh? Between the three of them there’s easily a football team of kids…so at some point I’m going to need them to stop thinking about themselves and start thinking about their families and how their actions affects their loved ones.

2 years on gun and drug possession. And can someone explain to me how he has a top ten album?

Hopefully everyone leaves prison a better person, a better citizen and less of a fool than when they went in. I wold wish that Boosie came out a better rap artist, but prison is rarely a cure for anything, let alone one’s non-existent rapping skills.

This Nigga here. At the top ofhis game and not has sit down smewhere for the better part of a year.
