So Jennifer “J. Lo” Lopez was recently interviewed with DJ Skee out in Los Angeles where she discussed her new single ‘Fresh Out The Oven’ featuring Pitbull, her next single ‘Louboutins’, as well as her being slated to perform at the upcoming AMA’s really?)
She also talked about her new album ‘Love?’ and why hubby Marc Anthony was none to pleased at the question mark at the end of the title:
Asked why she had the question mark for the ‘Love?’ album title, Lopez responded, “Well why not? I mean honestly, isn’t it like the most confusing thing in the whole world, love? … It’s not so much about my marriage as it is my experiences.” Lopez added that husband Marc Anthony “was so upset with the title because people are gonna think there’s something wrong.”
Is it just me, or does it seem like Lopez is completely tone def to the music landscape right now and her role in it?
I mean she is so far past irrelevant that I don’t think there is any way she can make a come back in any form of entertainment – acting, singing, dancing, and be the mega star she was back in the late 90’s to mid 2000’s.
She’s done…hell I’m still trying to understand how she managed to secure a performance spot on the AMA’s. Aren’t their other more relevant non-singing divas that would have been a better fit R(ihanna anyone – oh wait – she’s already performing)? I mean no offense, Lopez has never been able to sing — even with the help of all kinds of vocal enhancing equipment. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to let her sing live — again?
So today’s question is: Are you ready for Jennifer Lopez’s comeback? Will you buy he new CD? Do you even care? Or are you asking “Jennifer Lopez…who?”
NO, I could care less.
I liked the idea for her AMA performance. It wasnt perfect execution, but it was the best performance up to that point for me. I thought it was a night of terrible performances for the most part. RIHANNA gets the biggest pass in the world cuz she looks good, or cuz women seem to like her fashion choices. Nonetheless, she sings just as bad as JLO. JAY & ALICIA were good though I’m tired of the song. MARY was basic but good (those live performances have come a long way from the 411 days). EM & 50 doing a old ass song that no one cares about. Sarcastic laugh of JAY directed at 50 re: those paltry first week numbers. Overall a blah awards show.
After watching her bust her ass on the AMAs and struggling to figure out what the hell she was singing about, it’s safe to say that J Lo is over and done with. I think she should’ve bowed out gracefully and graduated onto doing other projects because her music is stuck in the past. Her performance lacked the umph she used to display and it was like watching a once shining star begin to fade.
I still haven’t watched the performance…but all I could think was “the old J Lo wouldn’t have fallen.”
i think she needs t focus on acting or producing…something…sheesh.
